
At least six Taliban militants were killed following a drone strike in Nangarhar province, eastern Afghanistan, Khaama Press reported on Wednesday.
The airstrike was carried out late on Tuesday evening in Spinghar district.
A spokesman for the Afghan National Police Border Protection Forces, Edris Momand said a Taliban group leader was among those killed.
Momand further added that the Taliban leader was identified as Rahman Khan who was leading a group of insurgents in the area.
He said a Pakistani national was also among those killed following the airstrike.
The Taliban militants group has not commented regarding the report so far.
Nangarhar is among the relatively volatile provinces in eastern Afghanistan where anti-government armed militant groups are actively operating in a number of its districts.
