
As many as 64 militants have been killed in newest security operations across Afghanistan, the country's interior ministry said Sunday.
A statement, quoted by local Khaama news agency, added that the operations were carried out in Logar, Ghazni, Khost, Heart, Takhar, Faryab, Helmand, Zabul and Uruzgan province over the past 24 hours.
Other 52 militants were wounded during these operations, the statement added.
Security forces also defused 15 different types of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) in the operations.
