Taliban in southern Afghanistan have abducted twelve local police officers in a remote village after drugging their food, a senior police official said on Thursday. Four insurgents arranged to break their Ramadan fast Wednesday evening disguised as guests at the outpost of local police in Zabul province's Shahjoi district, but drugged the policemen's meals, provincial police chief Ghulam Sakhi Rogh Lewani said. "The Taliban fighters were invited for dinner to the outpost, but after poisoning the police's meal, they took all 12 officers from the post to an unknown location" he was quoted as saying by DPA.
