
A transport plane belonging to the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) made precautionary landing in western Herat province of Afghanistan.
A security official in Herat province confirmed the report and said no casualties were reported following the incident which took place on Tuesday, according to the Afghan (Khaama Press).
The official further added that the plane was landing in the airport when it slipped from the runway.
He said the run way the runway was also partially damaged which resulted in the suspension of the flights to Herat province.
The NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) confirmed the incident and said, "We can confirm that an International Security Assistance Force aircraft conducted a precautionary landing in Herat yesterday." ISAF further added, "There were no ISAF casualties and no enemy activity in the area. Flights were suspended in and out of the base in Herat for several hours following the incident, but quickly resumed once all was deemed safe." ISAF also added that the cause of the precautionary landing is under investigation.
