
A roadside bomb struck the vehicle of a parliamentarian in the eastern Jalalabad city on Saturday, injuring three people including the lawmaker, a local official said. "A bomb planted by militants on a road in Behsoud district outside Nangarhar's provincial capital Jalalabad struck the vehicle of member of parliament Abdul Ghafar, injuring him along with two of his bodyguards," the official told Xinhua but declined to be named. Meanwhile, an official with the press department of the provincial government in talks with Xinhua confirmed the incident but did not give more details. This is the second bomb blast in Jalalabad since Saturday morning. In the previous blast one person was killed and five others injured.
