
Several gunmen and suicide bombers launched attack on several targets including a police station in Afghan capital Kabul on Friday evening, leaving casualties, a police source said. "The first blast took place at around 4:10 p.m. local time in Shahrara area," the source told Xinhua. The obvious target of the attack may have been the Public Protection Police Force headquarter and the nearby UN office, the source said. Gunfight still continue in the area, a Xinhua reporter said, adding a building in the areas caught fire in the incident. Several police vehicles and ambulances were heading to the area. Citing the initial reports, the source said that several people were killed and injured in the attack. Meantime, a witness said that the first explosion was a suicide car bombing targeting the police department.
