
At least four people including an Afghan National Army (ANA) soldier lost their lives in separate incidents of violence in Afghanistan, said officials on Saturday.
Three people including a logistic officer were killed during a clash at the central jail in southwestern Nimroz province of Afghanistan. Governor of Nimroz, Amir Mohammad Akhunzada in a statement said that the incident took place at the prison in Zaranj, the provincial capital when a visitor entered the jail with a silent pistol.
The visitor handed over his gun to one of the prisoners who opened fire at jail officials. The visitor and the prisoner who fired at the guards were killed in retaliation fire. Police had opened their investigations into the jailbreak attempt involving insurgents.
Moreover, an ANA soldier was killed and three others wounded when a suicide bomber targeted ANA check post in Greshk district of southern Helmand province on Saturday, said deputy commander of 205th Maiwand, Gen Mahmood.
