The 20-year-old acknowledged that it was an "honour and a privilege" to be summoned by Azzurri coach Cesare Prandelli and be part of the senior national squad. But the young star also revealed the role that Luis Enrique played that led him to his maiden call-up. "The underlying reason for my call-up [to the national team] is Luis Enrique, who gave me great confidence, especially after my injury, and continues to believe in me," Borini told Il Messaggero. The former Chelsea forward said he was not getting carried away with his rising stock and was just concentrating on the task at hand. "I think just about playing and giving everything I have," he said. "I do not read the newspapers or listen to the radio. "I have created a bubble in which I isolate myself, thinking only of my profession." Borini has scored seven league goals in 15 appearances for Roma this campaign.
