Rodolfo Borrell is hoping his Liverpool side can keep their calm and take the derby spoils when the Reds face Everton in the mini-derby at the Kirkby Academy this afternoon.Kick-off is at 2pm GMT and you can watch the game exclusively live on LFC TV and LFC TV Online with our coverage starting at 1.30pm. Today's clash is the first of two reserve team encounters between the sides in the space of two weeks, and Borrell is hoping his side can let their football do the talking. "The derby is always a special game. As a coach I need to treat it like any other game and try to prepare well and get the lads with the right focus to win," Borrell told Liverpoolfc.tv. "I also understand that this is a special game and it is played with a lot of passion. "I have been involved in many derbies over the years with Barcelona v Espanyol and Barcelona v Real Madrid. Liverpool v Everton is more or less the same. "We want to be competitive and play our usual good football."One of Borrell's first experiences of being in charge of a Merseyside derby was the U18s clash back in March 2010 when Raheem Sterling scored on his debut in a seven-goal thriller. "I remember Raheem making his debut and scoring when we won 4-3 - that was a thrilling game," he added. "That was quite a similar game to our last game at Sunderland when we were losing and produced a great comeback."The Reds' second-string go into the mini-derby on the back of a 3-3 draw with Sunderland, when they fought back from 3-1 to draw 3-3 with Barclays Premier Reserve League North leaders Sunderland. The Black Cats had won their previous seven home games on the bounce, scoring 20 goals in the process, and the coach praised his side's battling qualities. He added: "There was plenty of positivies to take from the game. We played really well in the second half and could have won the game when Suso hit the bar with a spectacular strike. "There was also a big lesson for us to learn when we lost our composure after they equalised with a penalty. The same thing happened to us last season against Manchester United in the FA Youth Cup so we need to learn from that and keep our concentration."
