The Olympique Lyon defender has promised to work with his new national boss and called on his colleagues to give him the maximum support to succeed.The captain of the Black Stars, John Mensah, has congratulated Kwesi Appiah over his elevation to his position as head coach of Ghana.The local coach was given the nod on Monday and has agreed to a two-year contract with an aim to win the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa.Mensah in a statement on his website said the news is a welcome update, and he promised to rally the team to work in a cordial atmosphere with the former assistant coach.“I want to congratulate coach Appiah on his appointment, it is a refreshing news and we are happy for him,” the 29-year-old said.“My colleagues and I will give our best shot, we promise to give him our uttermost best by way of cooperation and commitment as we strive to qualify for next World and Nations Cups.”Ghana’s major game in the coming months is against Zambia in a 2014 World Cup qualifying game in July.
