Arsène Wenger believes defensive-minded opposition have made life difficult for Arsenal in their last two home matches. Chelsea secured a goalless draw at Emirates Stadium on Saturday, while a fine defensive display from Wigan saw the Latics emerge with all three points after a quickfire early double last Monday. “I feel that the teams came here and defended very well,” the Frenchman told Arsenal Player. “It makes the game difficult for us and that is what happened. “This week we were a bit less sharp than the weeks before but in those weeks we still finished strongly in matches. Against Manchester City [we finished strongly so] you cannot say from one week to the next that you are tired.”
