One civilian was injured and 32 security men were injured in a car bombing that targeted a camp for the central security forces in Al Masaed district, west of Arish city.
A security source said the bombing took place while security elements were moving a water tanker outside the camp, while another vehicle was detected photographing the attack.
Police troops were deployed to comb the area.
The road leading to North Sinai University in Arish was closed, while communications were cut to hunt down the attackers.
The source said the car bomb came from the southern districts of Arish and tried to ram into one of the military barracks set up at the back gates of the camp.
