
Abyan province announced on Sunday the completion of the first phase of the rehabilitation of the houses damaged due to the war waged by the armed force against al-Qaeda militants that was broke out in some districts of the province in 2011-2012. About 129 houses were restored in the first phase at a cost of $1 million. In the presence of Abyan governor Jamal al-Aqel, the contracts for the implementation of second phase of rehabilitation were also signed. It includes restoration of 44 devastated houses funded by the Qatar Charity Society (QCS) and under the supervision of Charitable Society for Social Welfare (CSSW). Al-Aqel praised the aid provided by the QCS as well as the efforts of the CSSW in alleviating the suffering of the province's people who has experienced a real humanitarian tragedy after the destruction of their homes and forced to displace their towns. He said that the local authority in Abyan will offer all support and help all interventions in any field aiming to in return the life in the province to normal.
