
Thirteen Daesh fighters were killed Friday in a military operation conducted in Falluja city and Anbar Governorate, army sources said.
Supported by Sunni and Shiite tribes and clans, the Iraqi army killed a prominent leader of Daesh, called Mohamed Jihad el-Uamani, and four of his companions.
The statement stated that fleeing of extremist group's leaders to Syrian borders has increased after the advance of Iraqi forces in the region.
Meantime, security forces and tribal men killed eight of Daesh militants in Anbar Governorate, western Iraq, including a Syrian leader.
