14 people were killed and more than 60 others wounded Thursday when a truck transporting gas exploded in the Saudi capital Riyadh, Al-Arabiya television reported. "The explosion of the gas truck killed 14 people and injured more than 60 others," the reporter of the Saudi-owned news channel said. An AFP photographer at the scene reported huge damage in the area with dozens of cars burned. He said he saw civil defence personnel carrying two bodies "completely charred." A security official told AFP that a number of people perished in the explosion but did not give a toll. "There are fatalities," the official told AFP requesting anonymity. The security official had said earlier that a traffic accident had occurred at a junction on Khurays Road, 1 of the city's main arteries.
