Anti-Narcotics Department personnel aborted a plan to smuggle more than 1.4 million drug pills out of the country, the Public Security Department (PSD) reported on Tuesday.
An investigating team had earlier identified a suspect, the location and mode of smuggling as narcotics pills were hidden inside tie wire used for construction, with plans to transport the wire into a neighboring country, the PSD media centre said.
PSD officers monitored the truck carrying the tie wire, later forcing the suspect to stop the truck and, while searching the vehicle, officials found the tie wire with the concealed narcotics.
The drugs were then confiscated and those involved in the smuggling attempt were referred to authorities for questioning.
