Fifteen Houthi militants were killed Friday in clashes with popular resistance groups in Aden city.
The firefight left other Houthi militants wounded, the Yemeni news agency said.
Houthi militias bombarded also residential districts in Aden city, leaving a number of civilians dead and wounded.
The clashes came hours before the start of a temporarily humanitarian truce agreed by the warring factions in Yemen.
The pause in the fighting, to come into effect Friday night, will last about a week until the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan and aims to allow the delivery of assistance to some of the 21 million Yemenis in need.
Saudi Arabia and an Arab coalition have been bombing the Houthis and their allies in Yemen's army in an effort to boost legitimate government in Yemen.
