
The activities of the 15th meeting of the Arab Authority for Blood Transfusion Services (AABTS) kicked off Wednesday at the Arab League (AL) headquarters under AABTS Head Afaf Ahmed.
The meeting witnessed the participation of the Head of the Health Department at the AL Saed el Hady as well as the representatives of the blood transfusion authorities in Jordan, Kuwait, Libya, Sudan, Mauritania, Tunisia, Qatar, Palestine, Morocco and Saudi Arabia.
El Hady underlined that the meeting comes to resume the march of the AABTS, stressing the keenness of the Council of Arab Health Ministers on developing blood transfusion services given its importance in improving the health of the citizen and preventing the spread of diseases.
Speaking at the meeting's opening session, Hady said that the Council of Arab Health Ministers looks forward to raising the awareness of citizens and spreading the culture of voluntarily blood donation via propagating the value of social solidarity.
