2 army personnel killed in Sharqiya attack

Two military personnel were killed and two were wounded on Tuesday in an attack by unknown militants on a military vehicle in New Salhiya city, in the Sharqiya province, medical and security sources told Anadolu Agency. Sherif Makein, the director of Sharqiya ambulance service, said a 22-year-old army officer died of gunshot in the shoulder and left side while being taken to hospital. He added that any army personnel, 31, died of gunshot to the head. There was no official comment from the Egyptian army to the shooting attack until the filing of the report. This is the first such attack on army personnel in Egypt's Nile Delta. Army and police personnel and facilities have been increasingly targeted by militants in the Sinai Peninsula in recent weeks.
