2 killed, 15 injured in protests against Mubarak verdict

Two people were killed and 13 others injured late Saturday in clashes between Egyptian police and protesters after a court dropped murder charges against ousted president Hosni Mubarak, the Health Ministry said on Saturday.
Hospitals located near Tahrir Square and Abdel-Moneim Riad squares received 15 injured people, according to a statement issued by the Health Ministry.
Seven of the injured were discharged from Mounira General Hospital as their health conditions were improved, added the statement.
The injuries varied between suffocation due to tear gas and bruises, said the statement, noting that other protesters sustained wounds from bird shots.
The statement added that the two deaths were caused by gunshots.
Hundreds of people on Saturday gathered near central Cairo's Tahrir Square to protest against a court verdict, dropping charges against ex-president Hosni Mubarak that he incited the killing of protesters in 2011.
Standing trial with Mubarak in the same case were his interior minister and several Interior Ministry officials.
