2 soldiers, 55 militants killed, 35 arrested in north Sinai major operation

Two soldiers were killed and 12 others injured Tuesday during an extensive operation in north Sinai, the army said in a statement.

The statement added that 55 terrorists were killed while 35 others arrested during the operation.

Army and police units have continued the Operation "Right of the Martyr" for the ninth day in a row to eliminate terrorist elements in Rafah, Sheikh Zuweid and Arish in North Sinai, the statement said.

As many as 30 hotbeds were destroyed, 41 explosive devices defused and amounts of ammunition and weapons were seized.

Also, six vehicles and five unlicensed motorcycles were destroyed.

Three other vehicles were seized.

Two caves used by the terrorists and five warehouses were destroyed.

Four suspects were released for not being involved in terror attacks.
