
Two convicts who have been sentenced to life imprisonment in absentia in connection with terror cases have been arrested, Public Security Chief, Maj-Gen Tariq Al-Hassan, announced.
Bahraini Salman Isa Ali Salman 31 and Ali Maki Ali Salman 26, had been convicted of involvement of detonating bombs, murder and targeting on duty policemen in East Ikr village, he added.
He said that the two convicts were arrested as they were trying to target on duty policemen. A pistol in their possession was confiscated.
He explained that another pistol as well as ready-to-use homemade bombs, explosive material, fire extinguishers used as bomb launchers, iron rods, medical material used in treating terrorists which were stored in various places were also seized.He added that experts defused the seized bombs.
Al Hassan lauded the high coordination level among various police departments that led to the arrests.
Legal procedures are taken prior to referring the case to Public Prosecution.
