Syrian armed groups said at least 20 soldiers and pro-regime militiamen were killed in a bomb attack on their camp in Huwaijeh Saker district in the eastern city of Deir Azzor on Sunday.
The opposition fighters used an explosive-laden Hummer in the attack, according to a statement released by the opposition tonight.
Meanwhile, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported that the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) executed 13 men under suspicion of being members of pro-regime sleeper cells.
The victims were captured by the ISIL in Tabaqa area in Ar-Raqqah governorate a month ago; they were found in possession of personal weapons and communication devices, SOHR said, noting that it received reports on similar executions in Baath Dam area in the northern governorate.
In Maarat Misrin town in the northwestern governorate of Idlib the Syrian forces launched an air attack killing four civilians, including a woman and a child.
In from Ras Al-Ain town, Hasakah Governorate, near the borders with Turkey, Kurdish fighters ambushed ISIL militants and killed seven of them, including a leading member, according to SOHR report.
In a related development, the military council of the opposition Free Syrian Army (FSA) in Aleppo announced conditional acceptance of the initiative of the UN envoy Staffan de Mistura for a ceasefire in the northern city.
Unless President Bashar Al-Assad steps down, the air attacks halt, and all detainees - particularly women, are freed from the regime's jails, a ceasefire in Aleppo is unlikely, the military council stated.
The council also pressed for bringing to justice the Syrian officials responsible for the chemical weapon attacks on civilian targets and the departure of all foreign militiamen from the country, apparently referring to the Lebanese Hezbollah fighters.
Last week De Mistura suggested truce measures that require halting military operations in a number of Syrian cities, or "freeze zones," starting with Aleppo in order to pave the way for the delivery of relief aid for the civilians trapped in the conflict.
