
Tunisian police on Sunday arrested 27 rioters over accusations of attempting to break into a center of the National Guard at Manouba city in northeastern Tunisia.
Search and combing operations led to the arrest, al-Arabya TV channel quoted Tunisia's Interior Ministry spokesman Mohamed Ali Laroui as saying.
In a statement, the National Guard deplored the renewed violent acts, calling on the Tunisian authorities to take deterrent legal action against the rioters.
On Friday, units of the National Guard foiled an attempt by rioters to attack one of its centers in Manouba.
