3 blast suspects arrested in Bahrain

Three suspects of the terror bombing in Bani-Jamra on December 19, which left three policemen injured, have been arrested, Terror Crime Prosecution Chief, Attorney General Ahmed Al-Hammadi, said.
Investigations and reports by crime and forensic lab experts led to the identification of the suspects and the arrests, he said.
One suspect told the investigators about a farm that was being used to make explosives and devices.
Three ready-to-use homemade bombs, three fire extinguishers re-designed to be used as bomb launchers against policemen and other suspicious substances used in making explosives were found at the farm. Experts helped defuse the bombs, he said.
The suspects confessed that they had planned to target policemen and, in order to carry out their scheme, split into two groups.
One group provoked the policemen and hurled Molotov cocktails and iron rods at them to attract them to a path inside the cemetery in the village of Bani Jamra where an explosive device had been planted.
When the policemen reached the scene, the main group triggered the explosive device and three policemen were injured in the ambush, one seriously in the eye. Three cars parked near the site were damaged in the explosion.
The Public Prosecution ordered the suspects remanded in custody pending the investigation that included their enactment of the ambush. All evidences were referred to the forensic lab.
