
Three persons died while 206 others suffered heat exhaustion on Saturday due to the heatwave in Egypt, the Health Ministry said in a statement on Sunday.
A total of 129 persons out of the 206 were discharged from hospitals of Cairo, Sohag, Giza, Assuit, Minya, Aswan, Alexandria, Ismailia, Beni Suef, Qalubiya, Red Sea, New Valley, Port Said, Suez and Qena after receiving medical treatment, the ministry said.
The Middle East and North Africa is witnessing a heatwave that claimed the lives of hundreds of people while others were hit by heat exhaustion.
