The Arab League will host on Tuesday a three-way meeting under the chairmanship of Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit on means of pushing ahead a political settlement for the Libyan crisis.
Former Tanzanian president and higher representative of the African Union to Libya Jakaya Kikwete and UN Special Envoy to Libya Martin Kobler will take part in the meeting.
Arab League Spokesman Minister Plenipotentiary Mahmoud Afifi said the meeting aims at uniting Arab, African and UN efforts to propel a political dialogue among the Libyan parties and secure the necessary regional and international support for the resumption of the Libya political agreement signed in Morocco's Sukheirat.
The meeting also comes as part of a follow-up on a ministerial meeting held on Libya on September 22 on the fringe of the UN General Assembly meetings, added the spokesman.
The African higher representative and UN envoy are expected to issue a joint statement following the three-way meeting to outline means of promoting coordination between the Arab League and the African Union on the Libyan file.
