Thirty-two Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli jails staged a hunger strike on Sunday to protest humiliating treatment from jailers and poor imprisonment conditions.
Chief of Prisoners' Affairs Issa Qaraqe said that other 32 prisoners joined today the huger strike, bringing the total number to 180.
The United Nations on Saturday condemned a new Israeli law that allows the force-feeding of hunger-striking Palestinian prisoners.
The statement came as the controversial law, adopted last month, was about to undergo its first test with the intention of authorities to force feed a Palestinian lawyer who has not eaten for some 50 days to protest his incarceration without trial.
