
A security source in Diyala announced that joint Iraqi forces freed four villages from the control of the Islamic State organization in a massive military operation carried out northeast of Baquba.
The source told "the joint forces of the police and the army and the Peshmerga seized control of strategy and important roads in a military operation carried out in Jalawla and Saadia of Khanaqin, northeast of Baquba.
He explained that the military operation supported by the Army Aviation also resulted in the liberation of four villages and Awsej valley, east of Jalawla noting that five of the gunmen of the (IS) were killed and seven others were wounded in addition to the destruction of four vehicles carrying weapons and munitions. Pointing out that the joint forces have achieved security results in those areas to get rid of the control of the (IS) organization.
