The Interior Ministry arrested six Muslim Brotherhood members over exploding the main gas pipeline in Damietta governorate.
In a press release on Friday, the ministry said investigations revealed that MB fugitives directed the group's members to escalate violence attacks in conjunction with the anniversary of the January 25 revolution.
The perpetrators confessed that they received 500 pounds to plant a bomb at the pipeline.
Meanwhile, investigations said that MB elements were organizing a rally on Friday morning in Damietta.
During the rally, the MB members opened fire at security forces.
Two MB leaders were killed while two police officers and a citizen were injured during the clashes.
A gun, a shotgun and 25 bullets were found with the MB members.
