A Cairo prosecution on Tuesday remanded 63 rioters in custody for 15 days pending investigation into Sunday and Monday violent clashes in Matariya district which claimed the lives of 24 persons.
Rioters of the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood are accused of plotting the clashes which left scores of casualties in conjunction with the fourth anniversary of the January 25 revolution.
The prosecution called on the National Security and Criminal Investigation departments to provide needed investigations about crimes committed by the defendants.
Prosecution teams moved to various scenes to examine the dead bodies and ordered the forensic doctors to carry out autopsies and determine the causes of death.
