
At least eight militants of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) were killed in an ambush by Kurdish fighters defending the Syrian city of Ain Al-Arab (Kobane), announced on Saturday the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR).
SOHR said that the heavy clashes still rage between ISIL and Kurdish fighters in the eastern and western parts of the city.
It added that the Kurdish fighters also managed to repel an ISIL attack on the southern parts of the city and regained control over the local radio building in the area.
Meanwhile, SOHR stated that the international coalition's warplanes continued airstrikes against ISIL targets in Kobane and Aleppo.
In Damascus province, SOHR noted that clashes continued between regime forces backed by Hezbollah and NDF against Islamic battalions and Jabhat al-Nusra in Jobar neighborhood, reports of losses in both sides, clashes also took place between the two sides in al-Jora the old road of al-Hajar south of Damascus.
Regime helicopters dropped explosive barrels on a number of the opposition-held neighborhoods in northern Aleppo, it said.
