Eight people were killed and 28 others injured in a road accident on Cairo-Ismailia desert highway Friday, according to the Ministry of Health.
In the wee hours of the day, a number of cars collided, killing eight people, the ministry said.
The injured were moved to hospital for treatment and the dead to the forensic department.
Commenting on frequent road accidents, the ministry called on drivers to be more cautious, particularly in low visibility or foggy conditions, and to abide by safe-driving rules.
