As many 990 passengers crossed the Egypt-Gaza Rafah terminal on Wednesday after the Egyptian authorities agreed to reopen the crossing on both sides to allow humanitarian cases to reach the Gaza Strip.
The border crossing will be opened for passengers over three days in implementation of a decision by the Egyptian authorities to this effect on Monday.
Meantime, two aid convoys from Morocco and the UAE were allowed into the besieged enclave.
The convoys included medical supplies, food, and other humanitarian aid.
Passengers have been using the terminal since Monday, an official source at the crossing said, referring to a total of 963.
