
Iraq's new Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi said his country is fighting against terrorism on behalf of the whole world.
Speaking at a meeting with German Foreign Minister Walter Steinmeier on Saturday, the two sides discussed the latest political and security developments in the country, Alforat news agency reported.
"Iraq is fighting against terrorism on behalf of the world," al-Abadi underlined.
Meantime, both officials urged all international communities to help Iraq in anti- terrorism campaign.
UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon commended the decision of Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki to give up his candidature and support his rival Haidar al-Abadi as nominee to succeed him.
