Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Thursday met in Amman with Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs Nasser Judeh.
Abbas highlighted the intensive efforts to head to the U.N. Security Council to put an end to settlement, stressing the Palestinian and Arab support for the French initiative to hold an international peace conference that leads to a mechanism for solving the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
For his part, Judeh said the Palestinian issue will always be a core issue and the main reason for the regional instability. He added that there is no alternative to negotiations that address all final status issues and lead to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
