
H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, today headed the UAE delegation to the extraordinary Arab Foreign Ministers' meeting, held at the Arab League Secretariat General headquarters in Cairo, that also saw the participation of the Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas.
The UAE delegation included Mohammed bin Nakhira Al Dhaheri, the UAE's Ambassador to Egypt and Permanent Representative to the Arab League.
Chaired by the Foreign Minister of Mauritania, Ahmed Ould Tekdi, the meeting was also held in the presence of Dr. Nabil Al Arabi, the Secretary-General of the Arab League.
The meeting discussed the latest developments in the Palestinian arena and efforts being exerted to end the Israeli occupation of Palestine.
The Arab Ministerial Council was held upon a request from the Palestinian President to back the proposal to set a time frame for ending the Israeli occupation of Palestine through the United Nations Security Council.
