Aden Governor Aidroos al Zubaidi accused Sunday the gunmen of Al Qaeda, who are supported by the rebels, of targeting his motorcade with Aden Security Chief Shalal Ali Shayea.
In an interview with Sky News Arabia, al Zubaidi said that the booby-trapped car that was driven by a suicide bomber attacked the motorcade leaving three of their companions dead.
Meanwhile, the Yemeni police foiled last week an offensive by a booby-trapped vehicle on the house of Shayea.
In a statement, the spokesman of the police Abdel Rahamn el Naqib said that the guards of Shayea opened fire on the booby-trapped car driven by a suicide bomber who was wearing female clothes.
The vehicle exploded leaving one of the guards injured, while another two cars parked near the site of the blast went off, he noted.
