Arab League Secretary-General Nabil Al-Araby has called for taking necessary measures and making arrangements to maintain the Arab national security.
During the 143rd session of the League's permanent delegates in Cairo on Saturday, Al-Araby warned against "grave risks surrounding the Arab World amid rising terrorism, and extremist groups." He pointed, in that respect, to the resolution adopted by the Arab Foreign Ministers last September on the conservation of the national security and countering terrorism.
Al-Araby said that the consultations he had with the Arab Foreign Ministers over the past period revealed a clear orientation that the issue must be discussed during their Monday meeting.
Meanwhile, the chief of the Arab League stressed the need to endorse amendments to the inter-Arab body's charter within the framework of a comprehensive reform process. This requires the approval of seven member states.
He also underlined the importance of endorsing the statute of the Arab Court for Human Rights.
