Al Azhar imam urges launching joint Arab campaign to overcome suicide thoughts

Al Azhar Grand Imam Sheikh Ahmed el Tayyeb called for launching a joint Arab campaign to overcome the terrorist ideas and curb its effect on the youth of the Islamic nation.

This remark came duringa meeting held on Sunday between el Tayyeb and Kuwaiti Minister of Information and Minister of state for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman al Humoud who is currently visiting Egypt.

El Tayyeb hailed the role played by Kuwaiti emir, people and government at the Arab and Islamic levels, urging paying attention to the nation's youth, be in a constant contact with them, promote the love of the homeland in their spirits, listen to them and correct their wrong concepts and enact their role in building their countries.

The Egyptian official said that the nation is in need of upgrading the the educational curricula to protect the youth from the extremist ideas.

For his part, the Kuwait minister lauded the role played by Al Azhar in spreading the moderate teachings of Islam and promoting the values of tolerance as well as coexistence among the peoples of the world.
