Arab League Secretary General Nabil Al-Araby discussed on Monday with the opposition Syrian National Coalition chief Hadi Al-Bahra, the latest development in the Syrian crisis and results of the Arab ministerial meeting last night in Cairo.
Al-Bahra told reporters that issues in the meeting also covered the daily terrorism conducted by regime forces on the Syrian people, including the use of explosive barrels and the targeting of civilians in Al-Raqqah city and other areas which resulted in killing children and women.
The meeting also highlighted ways to deal with terrorist acts conducted by the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), Al-Bahra said, adding that the Syrian coalition began combating ISIL since last year, but cannot confront it alone and not without finding the real reasons behind the creation of such dangerous organization, particularly its connection to oppression which the Syrian people suffer from.
Al-Bahra noted that the coalition and the Syrian Liberation front are the two entities fighting terrorism in Syria, including other foreign terrorist organizations, stressing that the Syrian society is a moderate Islamic society and open to others.
With regard to the League, Al-Bahra said that League's chief expressed his commitment to finding solutions to the Syrian crisis, including ways to respond to the Syrian people needs, like a democratic and free society as well as constitutional and humanitarian rights. (end) mfm.mb
