Arab League (AL) Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit on Wednesday asserted that the private sector is playing an important role in promoting Arab economic joint action.
Mahmoud Afify, the spokesman for the AL chief, in press statements, quoted Abul Gheit as highlighting, at a meeting with the chief of the general federation of the Arab chambers of commerce, industry and agriculture Nael Rajaa, the necessity that the Arab private sector undertake its responsibility for upgrading the economic situation in the Arab countries and enhancing the living conditions of Arab peoples.
Abul Gheit explained that the private sector should support development plans in the Arab countries along with increasing inter-Arab trade, added the spokesman.
He further underlined the role of the private sector in standing up to unemployment in the Arab countries, added the spokesman.
