
Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal met with his Egyptian counterpart, Ibrahim Mahlab in Washington. The two leaders discussed the state of economic cooperation, notably gas between the two countries and the situation in the Sahel.
After the meeting, Egyptian Prime Minister said having discussed with Sellal the opportunity to involving Egyptian companies in Algeria’s housing and infrastructure programmes.
He also said that Algeria has agreed to supply some of Egypt’s needs in gas.
Also, both sides have agreed to hold a joint committee in October and start creating the Algerian-Egyptian Business Council.
In terms of security, Sellal and Mahlab reviewed the situation in the Sahel, particularly in Libya, and stressed the commitment of both countries to work to meet the challenges they face in the region.
