Road accidents claimed the lives of 86 people and injured 1,881 others in August, in 1,490 road accidents in August nationwide, the Directorate General of National Security said Wednesday in a toll.
The same source states that the human factor is the main cause of the accidents (96,38 %), mainly speeding, dangerous overtaking and manoeuvres.
During the same period, the Directorate General of National Security recorded 5,045 driving offences and 1,308 fines.
