Algerian army kills third militant in Tiaret

The combing operation conducted by units of the People's National Army (ANP) since Thursday at the forest of Mechraa Sfa, near Foussa in the province of Tiaret (340-km west of Algiers) allowed the elimination of a third terrorist Friday afternoon and the recovery of a Kalashnikov automatic rifle, said the Ministry of National Defence.
"Following the combing operation conducted by a detachment of the People's National Army yesterday Thursday 9 October 2014 at the forest of Mechraa Sfa, near the area of Foussa in the province of Tiaret (2nd Military Region) and which allowed the elimination of a terrorist and the arrest of another one, a third terrorist was killed this afternoon Friday 10 October 2014 and a Kalashnikov automatic rifle was recovered," said the Ministry's communiqué.
"The results show the Army's determination and commitment to chasing and eliminating these criminal groups wherever they are," said the communiqué.
