The Algerian Red Crescent (CRA) is ready to help the Syrians and the Africans willing to return to their home countries, chairwoman Saida Benhabiles said Tuesday.
During a news conference held in "Beni Chougrane" Hotel in Mascara, Benhabiles said that the CRA had provided significant aid to a number of the Syrian families, who deliberately chose to return to Syria, by buying them plane tickets and giving necessary aid. The CRA is ready to spread this operation to the African refugees occupying different provinces of the country.
Moreover, the chairwoman of the Algerian Red Crescent indicated that the body is waiting for a signal from the Egyptian authorities to send aid to Palestine, including nearly 130 tons of medicines and medical equipment collected in coordination with the Palestinian Red Crescent and the Palestinian Health Ministry via Palestinian embassy to Algeria and the General Union of Algerian Traders and Craftsmen, and students.
She stressed that the aid was collected "on the basis of the needs expressed by Palestinians and they are currently stored at the Exhibition Building," adding that the CRA has asked the Egyptian authorities the authorization to transport aid to Gaza through the Rafah crossing.
