Dostour Party members on Saturday staged a protest in Port Said against a court ruling that found deposed president Hosni Mubarak, his interior minister Habib el-Adly and six former security officials in the killing of 2011 protesters not guilty.
Security directorate spokesman Islam al-Sayyad said the protesters got a prior permission from the concerned security authorities.
The spokesman added that bomb disposal experts and civil protection forces searched the place before the planned protest to ensure the safety of demonstrators.
He pointed out that the protest began at 5:30 p.m. and was attended by about 20 young men and women.
The security forces secured the protest, which ended at 6:30 pm, he concluded.
