The two-day meetings of the 50th session of the Arab Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ARABOSAI)'s Executive Council ended here on Wednesday by adopting a number of recommendations on protecting public funds and fighting administrative corruption. President of Kuwait's State Audit Bureau Abdulaziz Al-Adsani, who chaired the meetings, told KUNA today that the recommendations focused on following up the implementation of the ARABOSAI strategy, reviewing reports made by the various committees to improve professional standards and monitoring activities in audit bureaus of member states, discussing the organization's general budget for 2014, in addition to examining the latest activities of INTOSAI, the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions. Regarding ARABOSAI's finances, he said the organization relied on its members' contributions, noting that some member states were remiss in those contributions because they were experiencing fiscal difficulties. He said that it was not decided where the organization's next meeting would take place since no member state sought to host it, however the opportunity existed that Tunisia or Kuwait might host it. He stressed the organization's keenness in developing closer ties with international ones, citing the recent representation of the organization through its Saudi representative to the meetings of INTOSAI.
