Arab coalition jets hit several hotbeds of Houthis and militias loyal to ousted president Ali Abdullah Saleh in Taiz.
Security sources said that 16 rebels were killed in the airstrikes, while 22 military patrols were blazed.
The raids targeted large Houthi gatherings in Hawban district, the old airport and female dorms at the Taiz University, the sources added.
Saudi Arabia and a coalition of other Arab states have been fighting since March to restore Yemen's exiled government and to repel the Iran-allied Shiite Houthi militias, who took control of the capital Sanaa in September.
