
The Arab countries, taking part in the third UN World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction, held a coordinatory meeting ahead of the launching the international event.
The UN conference will kick off in Japan's city of Sendai on Saturday.
The Arab countries still lack to partnership between the government and the private sector in the field of the disaster risk reduction, said Arab League's representative Luna Abu-Swaireh.
Abu-Swaireh said the pan-Arab body was devising a strategy for the period after 2015, adding it would be put into effect through specific action programs introduced by a ministerial meeting.
She highlighted the interest of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) in funding the projects of the disaster risk reduction.
